Housing Manager/ Warden
For over 30 years, our dedicated manager, Pat Anderson, has lived on-site at Old Rope Walk. She remains the charity’s only full-time employee.
Pat works diligently to ensure the well-being of residents; providing day to day management; maintaining the Almshouse properties and fosters a sense of community.
The warden acts as a point of contact for residents, addressing maintenance, health and safety and creating a harmonious and content community. The role is not a caregiving one, but rather focuses on creating a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for independent living.
Maintenance
We have a dedicated and hardworking maintenance person, Mark Bradley who is onsite each week to keep on top of all our property maintenance requests.
Any resident that has any maintenance concerns or requests should inform Pat as soon as possible who will co-ordinate the repairs with mark. Please do not contact Mark privately.
Clerk to The Trustees
Our Clerk, Bree Norton-Smith has worked with the Charity for three years. Her role serves as the link between the Board of Trustees and Staff and Residents.
Bree works part-time and remotely for the Charity for the most part however undertakes administrative duties, overseeing property maintenance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting resident welfare by keeping up to date with current guidelines structuring the Charities Policies.

We are recruiting Trustees
We are looking for new trustees, with existing, relevant experience, local to Poole or Bournemouth, who can join us.
Do you have expertise in the following?
– Safeguarding
– Handling Complaints
– Fire, Health and Safety
– IT systems and Online Assistance
– Housing Management
– Resident Welfare (Over 65’s)
What is involved?
– Quarterly Meetings (approx 3 hours once every 3 months on Tuesday afternoon at 2pm)
– Ideally we expect Trustees to commit an additional 15 hours a year either with attending training/seminars, resident coffee mornings or just assisting the staff in your area of skills and expertise. This is spread throughout the year. However if you feel that you have something you can offer but cant commit so much time please get in touch anyhow.
